World mourns football icon Maradona

Argentinian football player Diego Maradona has died of a heart attack. He was 60.

Maradona was one of the best footballers ever. He was the captain when Argentina won the World Cup in 1986. During the competition, he scored a famous goal. It was later voted the goal of the century.

Maradona also wore his famous number 10 shirt for clubs like Barcelona and Napoli. Sadly, he had problems at both clubs. He had to leave because of injury and drug problems.

In Argentina, football is like a religion. Maradona remains popular there. Argentinians feel that Maradona's mistakes were part of his humanity.

Maradona is seen as a national hero in Argentina. President Alberto Fernandez said there would be three days of mourning for Maradona.
