William and Kate celebrate anniversary - 10th May 2021

Ten years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge emerged from Buckingham Palace the day after their wedding. Bound not just for their secret honeymoon location, Prince William and Kate Middleton were also about to embark on a life together that has seen them journey to all four corners of the world, engage in charitable work and raise a family.

A decade later, the royal couple have commemorated the major milestone of ten years of marriage with a series of official portraits captured by celebrity photographer Chris Floyd. Embracing in the grounds of Kensington Palace, William and Kate appear at ease as they pose for the cameras.

The royal family's social media accounts shared the snapshots to millions of followers alongside a caption reading: "Wishing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary." The official Twitter account for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also got in on the action with a celebratory tweet complete with a party popper emoji.

Having courted for eight years, the university ex-flatmates tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London and the Duchess gave birth to her first child just two years later. William and Kate now have three children - seven year old Prince George, six year old Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, three.

With their wings clipped by the coronavirus pandemic, the globetrotting royals have turned their philanthropic gaze closer to home, supplying homemade baked goods to local vulnerable people, video calling the children of key workers, and visiting frontline health workers in a show of support. The couple have also been announced as the joint patrons of NHS Charities Together.

Following the death of the longest serving Queen's consort and William's grandfather, Prince Philip, in April this year, the Duke of Cambridge eulogised the patriarch by focusing on his near century of service to Britain, the Commonwealth, the Queen and the royal family. Pledging to emulate the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William issued a statement saying, "I will miss my grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job."
