These people are in Japan. They are remembering the tsunami. 10 years ago, there was an earthquake. Water covered the land. Many people died.
10 years later, people in Japan wanted to remember them. On 11th March, 2021, everyone was quiet. People thought about their family. Some people put letters in the sea.

Tomoi Ogi: "I don’t know why, but I felt a lot more emotional this morning than I was at each of the past anniversaries. Maybe I’m getting old. I woke up and watched TV, and then I was thinking to myself: 'Oh, it has been really 10 years.' It feels long, but it also feels short."
About 16,000 people died. Most people died in the tsunami. Some people are missing. Their families can’t find them. But they are looking.
In Fukushima, the tsunami hit a nuclear power station. Radiation came out of the nuclear station. The radiation is dangerous. The government is cleaning Fukushima. It is taking a long time. 10 years later, the local towns are not safe.
The tsunami changed Japan. Now, many towns are safe. There are big walls by the sea. The walls can stop tsunamis.
