Harris's family is Jamaican and Indian. She could be the first woman to be vice president. And the first black person and the first Indian American to be vice president.

Harris is a lawyer. She was California’s top lawyer. She was the first woman to have this job. Now she is also a politician. She is the first Indian-American in the US Senate.
In 2019, Harris wanted to become president. She wanted to be the Democrats’ choice for president. She didn’t get enough Democrat votes. In December 2019, she changed her plans. Now, she wants Joe Biden to be president.
