Baby panda twins at Berlin zoo

Twin Panda cubs made their debut in Berlin zoo earlier this month. The male cubs were born on 31st August but in keeping with Chinese tradition were only named after 100 days.

The twins made their debut in front of the world's media but will not go on public display until they are older.

Breeding pandas is exceptionally difficult, making twin cubs an extremely rare event. China lends pandas to zoos around the world under a breeding programme and Berlin zoo pays $15 million for a 15 year contract to host the pandas. This means, that although the cubs were born in Berlin, they're actually Chinese and must be returned to
