The world says no to racism - 10th June 2020 View All

There have been protests across America, Europe and Asia. People are supporting Black Lives Matter, which wants to see racism stop.

The protests began after an American man, George Floyd, died. He lived in Minneapolis, where he was arrested by the police. He died while he was under arrest. A policeman has been arrested for the death of Mr Floyd.

In London, people protested in Trafalgar Square. They went silent and went down on their knees to respect Floyd’s memory.

There have been protests across the USA. People marched in the capital city, Washington, and also went on their knees. People joined the protests with their families and friends.

Cierra Owens: Because, one day, I will be having black little girls and black little boys as kids and I want them to come up in a world that doesn’t hate them. I want them to fight for other things and not just to be, have human rights. This is not something that’s just a race thing. This is a human rights thing. This is not something that we, we should still be doing in 2020. View Less
