Wordle is a new game on the internet. Millions of people are playing it.

Wordle's easy to understand. Each day there's a new word. It has five letters. You have to find it out.

First, you guess a word. You type the letters into the table. Then, your letters change colour.

Green letters are correct. Grey letters aren't in the word. Gold letters are in the word in a different place. This information helps you. You can guess six times.

Josh Wardle, an engineer, made Wordle. During coronavirus, he wanted a game to play with his wife.

In October 2021, Wordle got 5,000 visitors. At the end of January 2022, it was 45 million. Then, the New York Times newspaper bought Wordle.

Some people are worried Wordle won't be free now. But anyone can copy the Wordle code. You can make Wordle and play it for seven years.
