Virus brings clean air to Delhi - 27th May 2020
Delhi is a city in North India. It is a very polluted city.
These images are from November last year. They show the bad pollution.
Now, the pollution is low. The sky is blue. The Coronavirus stopped the pollution.
The country didn’t go to work. Businesses closed and construction stopped. Public transport stopped too. There aren’t many cars and there’s no traffic.
Siddarth Singh studies energy and climate problems. He talks about air pollution. It is a human problem.
Siddarth Singh: We have created it. And when human activity stops naturally air quality improves. But the extent to which it has improved has come as a surprise to everyone.
