Sad parents fight son with the law - 6th June 2022
Two parents from India are very upset. They want a grandchild. They're angry with their son and his wife. They don't have any children.
Sanjeev and Sadhana Prasad spent lots of money on their son. He's a pilot. They paid for his education. And 6 years ago, they paid for his wedding. This all cost a lot of money.
Now, Sanjeev, 61, and Sadhana, 57, feel angry. They aren't working anymore. They'd like to be grandparents.
And they want a grandchild in 12 months. Or they want their son to pay them 50 million rupees. That's $650,000.
The parents and their son aren't talking these days. "We are very unhappy," Sanjeev said.
Now, Sanjeev and Sadhana hope the law can help. They're the first parents in India to try this. Many think it's normal to have grandchildren. It's part of life. But who knows what the law will decide?
