Dumbphones are the future - 25th April 2022
Do you want a new smartphone? Many people use social media and play games on smartphones. But some people want to stop playing with their phones. They're buying 'dumbphones'. There's no internet on a dumbphone. You can call people and take photos. But they don't have any apps.
Two years ago, teenager Robin West stopped using her smartphone. She wanted an old, basic phone. Then, she found a dumbphone for £8.
Robin loves her dumbphone. It saves her time and money. She doesn't use expensive data on social media. And she spends the extra time on her work.
Lots of people are now searching Google for dumbphones. New York company Light Phone makes 'feature phones'. They don't have email or social media, but they can play music. Some people use these phones to have a break from technology. But for others, dumbphones are the future!
