Billie's Tourette's syndrome - 20th June 2022
Billie Eilish has Tourette's syndrome. She said it's difficult.
She was in an interview. She had a tic. She said "if you film me for long enough, you're going to see lots of tics."
One percent of the world lives with Tourette's syndrome. People with TS move or make sounds suddenly. They can't control it. The movements are tics. Tourette's syndrome starts in childhood. Then, the tics and sounds usually get less. Sometimes, they stop completely.
Billie said that she doesn't tic while singing. She said that she has less tics now. But, they're still regular.
Billie "really loves" teaching people about Tourette’s syndrome. But she doesn't understand everything about it. She said that some people laugh at her tics. She thinks it's rude.
Terrina Bibb also lives with TS. She shares the same experience. She wants people to be kind to people with Tourette’s syndrome. She's happy Billie Eilish shared her experience.
