Beyonce biggest Grammy winner ever - 20th February 2023
It was a record breaking year at the Grammys this year. The biggest surprise was Beyoncé. She won her 32nd Grammy award. She's the first person to win that many.
Beyoncé won her award for best dance/electronic album. It's called Renaissance. She was pleased and had so many feelings about it and wanted to remember the night. She said a special thank you to her Uncle Johnny. Her album was about him and his life.
Beyoncé really wanted to win album of the year but Harry Styles won it. He was pleased but said "On nights like tonight, it's important for us to remember that there's no such thing as best in music."
Another historic event was Sam Smith and Kim Petras' winning best pop duo/group performance. They performed their single Unholy. Kim is the first transgender woman to win the award. She said she was so grateful for her mother's love.
Lizzo looked amazing and won record of the year. Bad Bunny was first on stage and everyone got up and danced. Singer Bonnie Raitt surprised everybody by winning song of the year. She beat Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, who were also nominated.
The last performance celebrated 50 years of hip-hop with musical legends putting on a 12 minute showcase.
It was a night of records, surprises and celebrations for the music industry.
