Greta Thunberg is 16 years old. She is from Sweden. She protests about global warming and gets others to join her.

Ms Thunberg arrived in the US last month on a sailing boat. She joined US students to protest near the White House.

There were lots of reporters and TV cameras at the protest. It was tricky for the protesters to march. Thunberg fell back. "We love you, Greta," fans yelled.

President Trump keeps saying that he doesn't think climate change is real. Ms Thunberg hopes President Trump will listen to scientists. Other countries have goals to stop global warming too. Most of the countries are not meeting those goals.

The protesters chanted: "Protect our future."

At the protest Thunberg did not say much because other speakers "have already said everything". The fans cheered.

But she added: "I just want to say... I'm so proud of you. Just never give up. We will... see you next week on 20 September" - for the global climate strike.

Ms Thunberg is travelling to Chile in December for the UN framework convention on climate change. She will try to get to Chile without travelling by plane.
