Gold hotel opens its doors - 8th July 2020

A luxurious gold plated hotel, claimed to be the first of its kind, has opened its doors in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

From the sparkling hallways to the lift doors, down to the smallest coffee cup and spoon, everything glitters with gold.

Guests can step into the opulent bathrooms to find gilded toilets, bathtubs, bidets and taps.

Those looking to unwind during their luxury stay can do so in the hotel's rooftop infinity pool, which is, of course, covered in gold.

Prices start at 250 dollars per night, though hotel owner Nguyen Huu Duong says it is not only aimed at the super rich.

Ordinary people are more than welcome to come and sample the high life. Phillip Park, from South Korea, is one of the first.

Park: "When I come to here, I feel like I am a king, you know, the Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.”
