Hindu festival for Ganesha - A2


Last week was the end of a festival in India. The festival is for a Hindu elephant god called Ganesha. The festival was 11 days long.

In Mumbai, people carried pictures and statues of Ganesha.

They carried the pictures and statues to the Arabian Sea. They put them in the water to say farewell to the god.

It's an important festival for all Hindus.

Man 1: "People come together, worship and they pray for their prosperity and good health for the year to come."

It is a colourful end to the festival.
