Black Panther star Boseman dies - 9th September 2020
Actor and “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman has passed away from colon cancer.
His death has shocked film fans worldwide as Boseman had kept his battle with cancer a private matter. He had continued to take on roles during chemotherapy and between operations.
Boseman's career glitters with iconic performances, from baseball legend Jackie Robinson in "42" to musician James Brown in "Get On Up". His role as King T'Challa in "Black Panther" will be remembered as his crowning achievement.
The first Marvel blockbuster with an all black cast, Boseman believed "Black Panther" was a sign of things to come.
Boseman: "You can see, in the industry, that people are starting to want to put their dollars, put their money where their mouth is, behind films where we are the leads, or we are the directors and producers and what not. So I think that is a change. But it's not just 'Black Panther'. 'Black Panther' was just the culminating moment."
