Emma Raducanu wins US Open Tennis - 20th September 2021

Everybody now knows Emma Raducanu. She won the US Open tennis competition. She is the first British woman to win since 1977.

Raducanu is only 18 years old. She played against another teenager, Leylah Fernandez. The two played a fantastic game. Raducanu won without too many problems. The score was 6-4 and 6-3. At the end, she was very happy.

Raducanu was born in Canada. Her mother is Chinese and her father is from Romania. They left Canada for Britain when she was a baby. She started playing tennis at five. She played in local competitions in England from seven years old.

At the start of the competition in New York, people didn't know her. But now she is famous. This is probably just the start of her tennis career.
