Swiss town covered in cocoa - B1

Chocolate falls like snow on village - 31st August 2020

People in a Swiss town have had a surprise. It snowed chocolate.

Chocolate company Lindt & Spruengli has a factory in Switzerland. The ventilation system at the factory broke. This sent cocoa nibs into the air outside the factory.

Cocoa nibs are crushed cocoa beans. They are the main ingredient in chocolate.

Strong winds carried the cocoa nibs to the surrounding town, where it fell like snow. There was no need for worry because cocoa nibs are harmless. The chocolate powder covered one car.

The company has promised to pay for any cleaning needed. So far, no one has asked for any money.

Lindt & Spruengli has now repaired the ventilation system. Chocolate production is continuing as normal.
