People have been dancing on longboards for about 20 years, and a kind of world championship has been organised since 2013. However, this year, the contest has gone virtual due to the coronavirus.

Lotfi Lamaali, the first longboard dancing champion, is one of the judges of the competition. This year's competitors are judged on their performances in videos on Instagram.

Lotfi, who calls himself Lotfiwoodwalker online, has 130,000 followers on Instagram and 380,000 on Tik Tok.

Longboard dancing attracts both men and women. Cassandre Lemoine was the 2019 vice champion of France. Her beautiful performances on Instagram have landed her a contract with an advertising agency. Now, she dances and advertises a clothing brand.

Videos of longboard dancing are breathtaking because of the fast aerial dance moves. It has become popular in recent years thanks to social media.
