Landslides in Norway - B1

Land falls into the sea in Norway - 12th June 2020

A large bit of land and 8 cabins were pulled into the sea in Norway.

The size of the land was 500m long and 160m wide. This area was bigger than other land movement in Norway.

When the land began to move, Jan Bakkeby was cooking in his cabin. He ran to higher land, where he recorded the event on his phone.

Emergency services were called. This included a helicopter, the Red Cross and Coast Guard.

But nobody was hurt because the other cabins were empty. There was just one dog in the water, which was rescued by a helicopter.

The cause of the landfall is not clear.
