Baby panda twins at Berlin zoo - A2

Baby panda twins at Berlin zoo - 18th December 2019

These are baby pandas. They're twin boys. They were born in Berlin zoo. They were born on 31st August. This month they met the world for the first time.

Photographers took pictures of the twin boys. People can't visit the cubs now. They are too small. Visitors will be able to see them later.

Pandas don't have many babies. They rarely have twins. China wants more pandas. China lends adult pandas to other zoos. They try to produce new babies. Berlin zoo pays $15 million to borrow pandas for 15 years. The babies were born in Berlin but they are Chinese. They must go back to China in 4 years.

And their names?

They're Meng Xiang or 'long awaited dream' and Meng Yuan or 'dream come true'.
