First all-woman spacewalk - 23rd October 2019
US astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir made history on Friday when they became the first all-female team to do a spacewalk.
They began their mission by making standard safety checks on their suits and tethers before moving to the area to replace a battery.
The first all-female spacewalk should have taken place in March but was cancelled as there were not two medium-sized space suits on board the International Space Station.
The US sent its first woman into space in 1983 and now has more woman astronauts than any other country.
