These dangerous fires are in Australia. They started in September. That’s four months ago. They will not stop. 17 people are dead. The fires burned down some small towns. The fires burned a very big area, the size of Denmark.
Bushfires sometimes start with lightning. They often start from campfires, cigarettes, machines, electricity cables or farmers burning land.
Climate change is making the fires very big. The weather is very hot and dry. The amount of rain is very low. And there are very strong winds. They help the fires move quickly.
