Maradona dies - 27 November 2020
This is Diego Maradona. He was an Argentinian football player. He died last week. He was 60.
Maradona was a very good footballer. He won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986. He scored a famous goal in the World Cup. People say it was the best goal in 100 years.
Maradona played for Barcelona Football Club and for Napoli. But he had problems with drugs. He had to leave both clubs.
Maradona was always popular in Argentina. Argentinians didn't focus on his problems. His problems made him human.
Maradona died on 25th November. His death is very important in Argentina. He is a national hero.
The Argentinian president made three special days for Maradona. For three days, everyone remembered Maradona. In Buenos Aires, people made a lot of noise. They went to the Diego Maradona stadium. They went to Boca Juniors Stadium. Maradona started playing football there. The people remembered Maradona.
