Adults shouldn't laugh at young people.

They shouldn't call them 'woke', a head teacher said.

The word 'woke' came from the US.

It means you understand problems in society, especially racism and sexism.

But now, some people use it in a negative way.

They use it to laugh at people.

Samantha Price is headmistress of Benenden School in Kent.

She said young people worry about society.

They worry about racism, sexism and climate change.

But older people often complain.

"They feel today's teenagers are speaking a different language," she said.

Ms Price said this generation are "young people who care about things ...

about the planet, about people." They are just being kind.

Older generations shouldn't complain or laugh.

And don't say 'woke'.
