Its name is Ducasse de Mons.

St George and the dragon walk in circles for 30 minutes.

11 'white men' and 8 'leaf men' carry the dragon.

Everyone in the festival is from Mons.

They practise all year for the 700 year old event.

Lots of people wait for years to be part of the festival.

Thousands of people come to watch.

They're part of the festival too.

They try to catch the dragon's tail.

St George always wins the fight.

He cuts the dragon with his sword.

Then he shoots it.

This keeps the city safe.

People are happy – the danger is over.
