Denmark’s queen gives job to son - 15th January 2024
Denmark’s queen is not queen anymore. Queen Margrethe II gave her job to her son, Frederik X.
She was queen for 52 years. She was the oldest living queen in Europe.
On New Year’s Eve, Queen Margrethe told Denmark about her news. She hurt her back last year. Now, her health is bad.
Danish people like their queen. She’s fashionable and kind. She speaks many languages. And she was a lieutenant in the Danish Air Force.
In the past, Frederik was a party prince. But then, he joined the army. And he skied across Greenland. He cares about the environment too. Now Danish people like Frederik.
The new king wants a normal life. Family life is important to him. He doesn’t want to be special. He said "I want to be myself".
