Thieves steal from English castle - 14th June 2021

£1 million of gold and silver is missing. It was in Arundel Castle in England. Thieves stole the silver and gold. Some of it is very important.

One important item is a gold rosary. Catholics use rosaries to pray. This rosary belonged to Mary Queen of Scots. She died in 1587.

The thieves broke a castle window. The items were in glass boxes. The thieves broke the boxes too.

The gold rosary was not very expensive. But it’s part of British history. The rosary was in Mary’s hands when they killed her.

There are a lot of thefts from castles. Thieves steal historic items for rich people. The police often find the stolen items in rich people's homes.

Mary wanted to be Queen of England. People worried about this. They killed her. Then, they burned all her things. We only have one rosary to remember Mary Queen of Scots.
