Covid protests - 24th November 2021
Lots of people have Covid-19 in Europe. Many people are in hospital. Governments are planning new lockdowns.
In Germany, Covid-19 numbers went up 50 percent in one week. In Norway, Covid deaths went up 67 percent.
In Austria, there’s a new lockdown. People can only leave home for work, groceries or exercise. There’s a new vaccine rule too. From February 2022, everyone has to have a vaccine.
Some people don't want the new rules. These groups went into the streets in Vienna.
The Netherlands, Croatia and Belgium made new rules too. People need vaccine passports for restaurants and shops. Some people don’t like this rule.
The World Health Organisation in Europe is worried. Not enough people have a Covid vaccine. Masks, vaccines and Covid passports are important. They stop people dying. They can stop another 500,000 Covid deaths.
