Clear winners in UK election - 16th December 2019
The UK Election results came on Friday 13th December. The Conservative Party won a lot of seats. Their leader is Boris Johnson.
Boris Johnson: "As the nation hands us this historic mandate, we must rise to the challenge and the level of expectations."
The leader of the Labour Party is Jeremy Corbyn. The result was very bad for Labour.
Jeremy Corbyn: "This is obviously a very disappointing night for the Labour Party with the result that we've got."
Boris Johnson went to Buckingham Palace. He talked to the Queen. The Queen asked him to run the government. He went back to Number 10 Downing Street. This is the Prime Minister's house. His big focus is to sort out Brexit.
Boris Johnson: "And with this mandate and this majority we will at last be able to do what?"
Audience: "Get Brexit done."
