Bruce Willis retires - 6th April 2022

Bruce Willis is a famous Hollywood actor. But he won't be in any more films. He's giving up acting. Willis has an illness. Its name is aphasia.

People with aphasia have problems speaking and listening. Aphasia makes reading and writing difficult too. Willis told his fans about his illness on Instagram.

Willis is now 67 years old. He became famous in the 1980s. He was the star of the Die Hard action films. Willis played action hero John McClane in the films. Die Hard films made billions of dollars in the cinema.

His wife, ex-wife and children all signed the Instagram post. They're working together as a family to help Bruce and each other. They wanted to share the sad news with his fans too.

In 2010, Willis said he had no plans to stop acting.

Bruce Willis: "I don't think about it very much. I don't, it seldom crosses my mind to think about retiring. And I'm sure at some point, I'll either be retired by my own choice or not by my choice. I still like working and I still like doing what I do and I like the, the process of making films."

Sadly, Willis had no choice in the end.
