The rise was due to a practice known as 'dynamic pricing'.
This sees increased demand reflected in higher prices, an approach fans considered nothing short of shameful.
Whilst it's the tour promoters who can select this form of pricing, the acts themselves are usually given the final say.
However, the Gallagher brothers denied all knowledge of plans to use the practice.
