In July 2021, a dance group in Cuba was in the news.

Datway's dancers learnt 'hip hop' online.

They mixed it with Cuban dances and put it on the internet.

They became famous.

And across North America the weather was hot.

In Western Europe, there were floods.

We started space tourism, too.

We need to do that to solve the problems here on Earth."

In August, the Olympics were in Japan.

Sadly, people couldn't go.

Takako: "I'm Japanese and because of the Covid, I couldn't go back to Japan.

In Greece, tourists went to a new museum under the sea.

In September, the band Abba told us about their new album.

They created a special show too.

It was the 20th anniversary of the 9/11attacks.

2977 people died.

George W Bush: "In the weeks and months following the 9/11 attacks, I was proud to lead an amazing, resilient, united people."

September to October, there were many stories of freedom.

There were Haitian refugees in Mexico.

Britney Spears was free.

And Little Amal remembered child refugees.

Jude Law: "It just seemed the most brilliant way to celebrate, try and raise awareness and share with the people who have taken a similar path to little Amal."

In November, there were many climate meetings.

In Scotland, there was COP26.

Jenny Rise: "A lot of politicians are scared of the power of this movement and that we can achieve something."

At the end of 2021, Covid was still present.

But there was some good news.

Robots were helping teachers in Korea.

Barbados is now a republic.

Sara Sandell : "So it's a lot of things that go with architecture and the design but also it's fun and everybody loves gingerbread houses!"
