Talks to give back Ethiopian treasure - 19th October 2020

150 years ago, the UK stole expensive things from Ethiopia. This treasure is in British museums. Ethiopia wants the treasure back. It is talking to one museum. The museum wants to give the treasure back.

There are lots of Ethiopian things in the museums. There is a gold crown. There is a special dress. In 2007, Ethiopia asked for many things back. But the museums said no.

The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) has some of the treasure. The V&A wants to give the treasure back. Tim Reeve is the boss of the V&A. He is talking to the Ethiopian government. He knows the treasure is not British. It should go back to Ethiopia.

The UK government says the V&A can't give the treasure back. But the V&A has an idea. They could give the treasure to Ethiopia for a short time. Ethiopia is happy about this.
